What is epoxy flooring and how does it work?+
Epoxy flooring is a professional-grade coating system chemically bonded to concrete, creating a hard, seamless surface that resists stains, impacts, chemicals, and heavy traffic. Not all systems are equal though. We work with several high-performance options and recommend the right one for your specific environment.
Polyaspartic coatings cure in hours instead of days, perform well in UV-exposed areas like pool decks and patios, and hold their color without yellowing. They are one of the most durable options available.
100% Solids Epoxy contains no solvents, so every drop of material you apply stays in the finished coating. This produces a thicker, denser film than water-based or solvent-cut products, with superior chemical resistance and long-term adhesion under heavy use.
Urethane topcoats deliver exceptional scratch and abrasion resistance with a smooth, low-maintenance finish. We often use them as the final layer over an epoxy or polyaspartic base for maximum durability and gloss retention.
During your free estimate, we assess your concrete condition, use case, and environment to recommend the system that will perform best for your specific space.
How much does epoxy flooring cost?+
Pricing depends on square footage, current concrete condition, and the system you choose. Residential garage floors typically range from $5 to $10 per square foot installed. Commercial and outdoor projects vary based on scope and system type. We provide a detailed, no-pressure written estimate at no charge. Book yours above to get an exact number for your space.
How long does installation take?+
Most residential garage floors take 2 days. Day one covers concrete preparation and base coats. Day two applies the topcoat and any finishing details. Commercial projects vary by size and system. We work efficiently without shortcutting cure time between layers. That discipline is what separates a coating that lasts 15 years from one that peels in 2.
When can I use my floor after installation?+
Light foot traffic is safe within 12–24 hours. For garages, we recommend waiting 72 hours before parking vehicles to allow the system to fully cure and reach maximum hardness. We give you specific timing guidance tailored to your system on installation day.
Do you warranty your work?+
Yes. We back every installation with a written warranty covering both materials and labor. Specific terms vary by system type and are reviewed during your free estimate so there are no surprises. We use commercial-grade products rated for 15-year lifespans, not the big-box-store coatings that fail within a few years.
Do I need to prepare my concrete before you arrive?+
For garages, just clear the floor. Move vehicles, remove stored items, and take out anything within 12 inches of the floor. That is it. We handle all concrete grinding, crack repairs, moisture testing, and cleanup. For commercial spaces, we will walk you through any site prep requirements at the estimate.
Can epoxy be applied over existing paint or coatings?+
In most cases yes. Our diamond grinding process removes existing coatings and creates the proper surface profile for a strong bond. We'll assess your floor during the free estimate and tell you exactly what preparation is needed for a long-lasting result.
Do you serve areas outside of Savannah?+
Yes. We serve the greater Savannah area including Richmond Hill, Pooler, Statesboro, Hinesville, Brunswick, Bluffton SC, Hilton Head SC, and Jacksonville FL. If you are unsure whether we cover your location, book a free estimate and we will confirm. Travel fees rarely apply within our standard service area.
Is epoxy flooring slippery?+
Standard epoxy topcoats can be slightly slick when wet. We address this with decorative flake broadcast (which adds natural grip) and anti-slip additives mixed into the topcoat for high-traffic or wet areas like pool decks and commercial kitchens. We'll recommend the right slip-resistance level for your specific application.
What makes Frog Splash Coatings different from other contractors?+
We are veteran-owned and family-operated, which means we treat your home or business like our own. We use commercial-grade materials, not the watered-down products sold at hardware stores. Every job gets proper concrete preparation with no shortcuts, a written warranty, and a crew that shows up on time and cleans up completely. No subcontractors. No surprises.
